About Allied Air HVAC Systems

Owned by Lennox International

Allied Air Enterprises is the Lennox International division that builds Armstrong Air, AirEase, Concord, Ducane, and Aire-Flo, along with Allied-branded commercial equipment. Units carrying the Allied name are made to Lennox engineering standards on the same Allied production lines.

Allied-Commercial equipment uses four serial number styles depending on the era. The most common modern style reads the two-digit year from positions 3 and 4 and the month from the letter in position 5, for example 1606B13871 (February 2006). Older units use letter-coded or week-based date stamps.

Known Allied Air Issues to Watch For

A short list of patterns reported on Allied Air equipment. Most have been addressed with revised designs or service bulletins, but they're useful context if you're diagnosing an older system.

  • Allied equipment shares component sourcing with Lennox Merit and Elite, so mid-tier coils can develop formicary corrosion in homes with heavy off-gassing.
  • Communicating thermostats on higher-tier models have had occasional Wi-Fi pairing issues addressed by firmware updates.
  • The Allied dealer network is smaller than Lennox's, which can slow warranty service in rural markets.

Allied Air HVAC FAQs

Allied places the data plate on a front or rear corner of the outdoor cabinet, similar to Lennox, and inside the furnace burner compartment. The serial style varies by era, so enter the full serial exactly as printed.

Related HVAC Brands

Allied Air shares a parent company with these brands, so they often use similar serial number formats and components.
