Luxaire is a York/Johnson Controls brand aimed at the upper end of the residential market. Where York targets independent dealers broadly, Luxaire is sold through a tighter contractor network with more emphasis on extended warranties and service plans.
The equipment comes from the same York manufacturing facilities, so the mechanical components are identical. Serial numbers use the same date code as York: on modern units the 2nd and 4th characters are the year digits and the 3rd character is a month letter.
