York makes a wide range of residential and commercial heating and cooling equipment, from small split systems all the way to large commercial chillers. A short list of patterns reported on York equipment. Most have been addressed with revised designs or service bulletins, but they're useful context if you're diagnosing an older system.

•Some 2007-2010 LX series condensers had bad copper-aluminum coil joints that developed formicary corrosion; York extended coverage on affected units.
•Pre-2015 communicating units sometimes had reliability issues with the original Hx thermostat; the newer Hx3 unit with a wired thermostat link is significantly more stable.
•Aluminum micro-channel coils introduced around 2013 reduce refrigerant charge but leak more often than older copper-tube coils when installed in coastal environments.
