About Bosch HVAC Systems
Bosch entered the American residential HVAC market in 2012 when it acquired FHP Manufacturing, a Florida company that had been making geothermal heat pumps since the 1980s. The Bosch HVAC line has since expanded to include ducted and ductless mini-split systems, variable speed heat pumps, and hybrid electric systems, with manufacturing split between US and German facilities. The serial number date code lives in positions 5 through 7: a three-character code that maps to a specific month and year. This decoder covers all equipment made since 2010. Units made before 2010 under the FHP name don't carry an encoded date in the serial number; contact Bosch support for those older units.
