Mitsubishi Electric is a division of the Japanese Mitsubishi group that has been making HVAC equipment since the 1930s. In North America, Mitsubishi is best known for ductless mini-split systems. They essentially introduced the category to the US market in the 1990s. The Mr. Slim line became a standard reference point for ductless HVAC. One limitation worth knowing up front: Mitsubishi serial numbers encode only the last digit of the manufacturing year, not the full four-digit year.
