About Arcoaire HVAC Systems

Owned by Carrier Global (ICP)

Arcoaire is one of several residential brands sold by ICP (International Comfort Products), now a Carrier Global division. ICP's business model is built around contractor exclusivity. Dealers choose from Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker, Arcoaire, Day & Night, Keeprite, and Airquest based on their market or distribution agreement.

The equipment across all of these brands is largely the same, built in the same factories. Arcoaire serial numbers decode identically to any other ICP brand: positions 2 and 3 are the two-digit year, and positions 4 and 5 are the manufacturing week.

Common Arcoaire HVAC Models & Series

The most-installed Arcoaire residential systems on the market today, organized by tier. Knowing your series helps narrow down service parts and warranty terms.

Arcoaire HVAC Quick Facts

Warranty

Arcoaire provides a 10-year parts warranty and 10-year compressor warranty when registered within 90 days; unregistered units default to 5 years. Heat exchangers on furnaces have a 20-year limited warranty, and a Lifetime Heat Exchanger warranty is available on Performance-series units.

Expected Lifespan

AC / Heat pumps: 13 to 18 years
Furnaces: 18 to 25 years

Where It's Built

Lewisburg, Tennessee (ICP's main residential plant) — the same factory that builds Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker, Day & Night, Keeprite, and Airquest equipment.

Price Positioning

Mid-tier — usually priced between Comfortmaker (lower) and Tempstar (higher) within the ICP family, often 10-15% less than Carrier-branded equivalents.

Known Arcoaire Issues to Watch For

A short list of patterns reported on Arcoaire equipment. Most have been addressed with revised designs or service bulletins, but they're useful context if you're diagnosing an older system.

  • •Arcoaire shares all of the ICP family chassis design, so it inherits the same patterns: aluminum micro-channel coils on 2013+ outdoor units leak more in coastal environments than older copper tube-and-fin designs.
  • •ICP Observer communicating thermostat occasionally drops connection on units installed in homes with thick walls; wired Cat-5 thermostat connections are more reliable than 18/8 wire.
  • •Older Arcoaire units (pre-2010) may carry only a 1-year parts warranty since the longer terms didn't roll out until ICP's later contractor agreements.

Arcoaire HVAC FAQs

Arcoaire follows ICP's standard placement: data plate on the side of the outdoor condenser, near the service valves; furnace label on the inside of the upper access door. Serials are 10 characters with year in positions 2-3 and week in positions 4-5.
