About ICP HVAC Systems

Owned by Carrier Global

ICP stands for International Comfort Products, a Carrier Global division that operates as a contractor-only distribution business. Rather than selling under the ICP name at retail, ICP runs a family of separate brands, Heil, Tempstar, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Keeprite, Day & Night, and Airquest, each sold through different dealer networks with different warranty packaging.

The equipment across all of those brands comes from the same manufacturing facilities. If you have an ICP-branded unit (typically found in commercial or multi-unit settings), the serial number decodes the same way as any ICP family brand: two-digit year in positions 2 and 3, manufacturing week in positions 4 and 5.

Common ICP HVAC Models & Series

The most-installed ICP residential systems on the market today, organized by tier. Knowing your series helps narrow down service parts and warranty terms.

ICP HVAC Quick Facts

Warranty

ICP-branded equipment is mostly sold into commercial and multi-family channels, so warranty terms vary by project specification. Standard residential coverage is 10 years parts and 10 years compressor with registration; commercial installs may carry shorter terms negotiated at purchase.

Expected Lifespan

AC / Heat pumps: 13 to 18 years
Furnaces: 18 to 25 years

Where It's Built

Lewisburg, Tennessee (ICP's main residential plant). All ICP family brands — Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker, Arcoaire, Day & Night, Keeprite, Airquest, and ICP-branded — come off the same production lines.

Price Positioning

Mid-tier — ICP-branded equipment is typically priced at the contractor level rather than retail, so end-user pricing depends heavily on the install contract.

Known ICP Issues to Watch For

A short list of patterns reported on ICP equipment. Most have been addressed with revised designs or service bulletins, but they're useful context if you're diagnosing an older system.

  • ICP-branded equipment is unusual in residential settings; if you have one, it likely came from a commercial or multi-unit project and may not have the consumer-friendly warranty packaging of Heil or Tempstar.
  • All ICP-family units share the same micro-channel coil leak rates in coastal environments and the same Observer thermostat sensitivity to thermostat wiring.
  • Service parts are best sourced through any ICP-affiliated dealer (Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker, etc.) — they're cross-compatible across the family.

ICP HVAC FAQs

ICP data plates sit on the side of the outdoor condenser cabinet, near the service valves. The serial format is consistent across the entire ICP family: factory letter, year in positions 2-3, week in positions 4-5.

Related HVAC Brands

ICP shares a parent company with these brands -- they often use similar serial number formats and components.
