Tempstar is ICP's upper-tier residential brand, often positioned against Lennox and Trane in the contractor market. ICP is a Carrier Global division that runs Tempstar, Heil, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Day & Night, Keeprite, and Airquest as separate brands with shared manufacturing.
The differentiation is in dealer agreements and branding, not the equipment itself. Tempstar's serial number format is shared across the entire ICP family: two-digit year in positions 2 and 3, manufacturing week in positions 4 and 5.
