About Keeprite HVAC Systems

Owned by Carrier Global (ICP)

Keeprite is ICP's Canadian brand, distributed through HVAC contractors across Canada. The equipment is built for Canadian climate requirements, including furnaces rated for very low outdoor temperatures and heat pumps with better cold-weather performance.

ICP is a Carrier Global division; Keeprite shares its manufacturing base with Heil, Tempstar, Arcoaire, and the other ICP brands. Serial numbers use the same format globally across the ICP family: two-digit year in positions 2 and 3, manufacturing week in positions 4 and 5.

Keeprite HVAC Quick Facts

Warranty

Keeprite provides a 10-year parts warranty and 10-year compressor warranty when registered within 90 days. Premium QuietComfort gas furnaces include a Lifetime Heat Exchanger warranty to the original homeowner. Coverage terms are administered through Canadian ICP distributors.

Expected Lifespan

AC / Heat pumps: 13 to 18 years
Furnaces: 18 to 25 years

Where It's Built

Lewisburg, Tennessee (ICP's main residential plant). Keeprite shares production with Heil, Tempstar, Comfortmaker, Arcoaire, Day & Night, and Airquest, with some Canadian-specific cold-climate testing and certification.

Price Positioning

Mid-tier — pricing varies by Canadian province and dealer; typically priced similarly to Heil and Tempstar in the same market.

Known Keeprite Issues to Watch For

A short list of patterns reported on Keeprite equipment. Most have been addressed with revised designs or service bulletins, but they're useful context if you're diagnosing an older system.

  • Keeprite-branded units are sold only in Canada, so US homeowners with Keeprite equipment (often near border markets) sometimes have trouble sourcing warranty service through US ICP dealers.
  • Same micro-channel coil corrosion patterns as the rest of the ICP family in coastal environments.
  • Older Keeprite units (pre-2010) may carry shorter warranty terms; check the original installer's paperwork rather than assuming current ICP coverage applies.

Keeprite HVAC FAQs

Keeprite data plates are on the side of the outdoor condenser cabinet, near the service valves; furnace labels are inside the upper access door. Serials are 10 characters with year in positions 2-3 and week in positions 4-5.

Related HVAC Brands

Keeprite shares a parent company with these brands -- they often use similar serial number formats and components.
