About Frigidaire HVAC Systems
Frigidaire HVAC has no connection to the Frigidaire appliances sold by Electrolux. The HVAC products using the Frigidaire name are made by Nortek Global HVAC (formerly Nordyne), which licenses the brand name for residential heating and cooling equipment. Nortek runs several licensed HVAC brands this way, including Tappan and Gibson. There are three serial number styles in use across different eras of Nortek/Nordyne manufacturing. The most common puts a month letter in position 1 and a two-digit year in positions 2 and 3.
