About Miller HVAC Systems

Owned by Nortek Global HVAC

Miller is Nortek's manufactured-home brand, a sister line to Intertherm. It focuses on furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps designed for HUD-code mobile and modular homes, where airflow and cabinet sizing differ from site-built systems.

Miller serial numbers are twelve characters: a letter, a number, and another letter, then four digits, a dash, and five more digits, like G5R9510-01034. The two-digit year is in positions 4 and 5 and the two-digit month is in positions 6 and 7, so G5R9510-01034 was built in October 1995.

Known Miller Issues to Watch For

A short list of patterns reported on Miller equipment. Most have been addressed with revised designs or service bulletins, but they're useful context if you're diagnosing an older system.

  • Parts and matched components should be ordered for the manufactured-home line rather than site-built models.
  • Older Miller electric furnaces use sequencers and heating elements that are common, inexpensive wear items.
  • Service literature is sometimes filed under Nordyne or Intertherm.

Miller HVAC FAQs

Check the data plate on the indoor furnace or air handler cabinet and on the outdoor condenser. The serial begins with a letter, a number, and another letter, then the year and month in positions 4 to 7, then a dash and a sequence.
