About Gibson HVAC Systems
Gibson HVAC is a Nortek Global HVAC brand (formerly Nordyne). No connection to the guitar company. Nortek licenses several well-known consumer brand names for its HVAC lines, including Frigidaire, Tappan, and Gibson, none of which retain any ties to their original parent companies. Gibson HVAC makes residential air conditioners, heat pumps, and furnaces at the same Nortek facilities as the other brands in the family. The serial number format is Nordyne's standard: a month letter in position 1, a two-digit year in positions 2 and 3.
